Announcing FLOW 2017!

March 21, 2017

For the Love of Words or ‘FLOW’ is Action Read’s much-anticipated annual fundraiser which inspires, challenges and entertains through poetry, spoken word, storytelling and live music. Canada’s Poet Laureate and FLOW alumnus George Elliott Clarke said this about the event: “Seldom have I encountered such an inspiring set of fellow and sister poets and such a rapturous and enthusiastic audience! The wine was in the words and the bread was in the applause.” Poet John Terpstra called this event “…simply great.”

FLOW 2017 features spoken word artist David James Hudson, as well as much loved poets John B. Lee, Karen Houle and Brittany Luby. Also, come check out the exciting new poetic voices of Greta DeLonghi and Candace de Taeye! The event will be complemented by the soulful harmonies of The Hazy Maidens. As always, there’s an outstanding silent auction filled with fabulous packages and karma to boot.

This is a licensed event with doors opening at 6:45 pm. Tickets $20. All proceeds go directly to Action Read’s adult and family literacy programs.
