For the Love of Words’ (FLOW) is Action Read’s annual poetry, music and spoken word fundraiser in support of literacy. The event was launched in 1999 as a way to showcase the incredible literary talent that we have in Guelph, while raising critical funds for our programs. Since then the event has grown in size and has raised thousands of dollars, while also raising awareness of the problem of low literacy in our community. FLOW features poets, authors and spoken word performers reading or performing their work, interspersed with live music. Funds raised from the event are critical to Action Read being able to deliver its literacy services each year.
