Dolly Parton was passionate about literacy because her father, Robert Lee Parton Sr., could not read or write. Amberley Arnold and Tarah Walsh have organized a tribute to this musical legend with numerous local musicians including: Flying Pants, Kent MacMillan, Woebegones (featuring Jen Rafter); Hellion Ton: Break Even Boys; Naomi D.; Meredith Grant; Broadband; Josh Gabriel; Lennox and the Hot Flashes; Samantha Piper; and Cowboy Medicine. They have graciously decided this will be a “pass the hat” fundraiser for Action Read. Huge thank you! Help us raise our voices to her music and keep Dolly’s passion for community literacy going. Join us at the Woolwich Arms, 176 Woolwich Street in Guelph on Sat Oct 17 from 8-midnight. If you cannot make it and want to lend your support, please make a donation here.
